2008


  • Nov 11th - Brita Johnson, Executive Director of Health in Harmony, published a piece in New American Media, explaining how linking conservation of the rainforest with health care delivery helps local communities in Indonesia. Kinari Webb describes her vision as follows:

"We want to provide a model," says Dr. Webb, "to be used in other threatened ecosystems where human and natural communities are in conflict, and where basic human health needs go unmet."



2007

  • Dec 7th  - Paul Farmer, of Partners in Health, and Dai Ellis, co-founder of Orphans of Rwanda, gave a speech at Harvard Law School on how to save children's lives in Rwanda. The speech was covered by the Harvard Crimson.

  • Apr 11th - Orphans of Rwanda Executive Director, Michael Brotchner, has co-written an excellent piece in the NY Times on the progress Rwanda has made in 15 years since the beginning of the genocide there.
